In short

Say you buy 10 Care Bears Bedtime Bears. You send 6 to Amazon and keep 4 at home. When one of the 4 sells, you pack it and ship it yourself. That is one order split two ways, and SourceDock follows both halves. You split it once on Purchases, and SourceDock counts your FBM sales from Amazon’s reports. In the demo store, open Purchases and find the Bedtime Bear plush. Its status reads Split FBA / FBM, with Partially sent 6/10 to FBA and FBM 4 (1 left) under it.
A Purchases row: Sep 21, 2026, Qty 10, the pill Split FBA / FBM with Partially sent 6/10 to FBA and FBM 4 (1 left) under it, the Care Bears Bedtime Bear, B0C2QHV77J, Cost $120.00 ($12.00/unit), Expected Profit $80.00, Current Profit $91.30.

Demo store: the Bedtime Bear's order on Purchases. Notice Split FBA / FBM, then Partially sent 6/10 to FBA and FBM 4 (1 left) under it.

More details

  • FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon): Amazon keeps your units in its warehouses and ships each order for you.
  • FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant): you keep the units and ship each order yourself.
1

Pick Split FBA / FBM

On Purchases, click the order’s status. Pick Split FBA / FBM…, right under Partially Sent to FBA.
2

Type the two counts

Record what you sent to FBA opens. For the bear, type 6 in the sent box and 4 in kept for FBM.
3

Save

Click Save count.
The order’s status now reads Split FBA / FBM. Under it are two short lines:
  • Partially sent 6/10 to FBA: 6 of the 10 went to Amazon.
  • FBM 4 (1 left): you kept 4 for FBM, and 1 of them is still at home.
You don’t type anything when an FBM unit sells. After you confirm shipment on Amazon, SourceDock reads the order from Amazon’s reports at its next sync. The bear started at FBM 4 (4 left). After 3 orders it reads FBM 4 (1 left).Ship every unit yourself? Pick Selling FBM instead. That order shows the same count, like FBM 6 (2 left). The order’s other units still move as usual. The 6 at Amazon sell as FBA sales, and Capital Recovery counts both kinds.
The Megalodon playset shows what goes wrong. You kept 5 at home, but you marked only 3 as kept for FBM. Then you shipped all 5. Amazon’s reports now show more FBM sales than your purchases keep.Purchases’ Reconcile shows a card in the Fix FBM count group:
Amazon shows 5 sold FBM, but your purchases keep only 3 for FBM.
A card titled Fix FBM count, 6 of 6: Monster Jam Megalodon Loop of Doom, B0CCW5D6BW, $32.00. Amazon shows 5 sold FBM, but your purchases keep only 3 for FBM. A FIX box: Open the counts on your Sep 11 order (8 units) and mark the units you shipped yourself as Kept for FBM. Buttons Skip and Fix.

Demo store: the Megalodon playset's card on Purchases' Reconcile. Notice Fix FBM count at the top, the FIX box, and the Fix button.

Its FIX box says to open the counts on that order and mark the units you shipped yourself as Kept for FBM. Click Fix. The order’s counts open. Mark the units you shipped yourself as kept for FBM, here 5, and save. The card then says Fixed. Your FBM counts now cover what Amazon shows sold. and leaves. More about Reconcile: Reconcile.
FBM profit needs what it costs you to ship one item to a buyer. Say a label and box cost you $4.50. Type 4.50 in FBM shipping cost (per unit). It is one setting, shown in three places. Change it in one, and the others change too:
  • Account > Features > Profit calculator, under COSTS.
  • The Chrome extension’s Settings.
  • The Vault’s Filters, in the FBM vs FBA box.
It is always in US dollars. On a Canada or Mexico store the box says US$. With it blank, the Vault’s FBM profit says Set shipping instead of counting $0. See FBM profit.
  • Bedtime Bear plush: 10 bought at $12.00 each, 40 days before the seed day. 6 sent to Amazon, 4 kept at home, and 3 of those 4 shipped to buyers.
  • Megalodon playset: 8 bought at $16.00 each, 50 days before. 3 sent to Amazon, 5 kept at home but only 3 marked kept for FBM, and all 5 shipped.
Find both in the demo store under Purchases.
