Follow one made-up seller from sign-up through the free trial, the five setup steps, the first Amazon read, and the first import, with the numbers each screen shows.
Scenario for this page: Casey Lee is a brand-new seller with no plan yet. Harbor & Pine Goods is the demo store, and it is already connected: one Amazon approval added its US and Canada stores, and Amazon accepts its key. The pictures of Casey come from a test copy with a made-up seller, because the demo login already has a plan. Find Harbor & Pine Goods in the demo login under Account > Connections.
Say you are Maya, and you sell one blender on Amazon. Its ASIN, Amazon’s code for the product, is “B0EXAMPLE1”. Amazon’s name for your store is “Bright Home”.You bought 20 blenders on May 1, 2026, and paid $8.00 for each one. That is 800 cents each. 20 times 800 cents is 16,000 cents, and the screen prints that as “$160.00”. Amazon received all 20 on May 12, 2026. This page follows those 20 units from your new account to your first purchase in SourceDock. The short version is Setup: your first day.
The sign-up page is called Create your seller account. It lists three lines: Restriction verdicts in seconds, Live ROI in the Vault, and 14-day trial, no card required. ROI means the money you get back for the money you put in. If Google sign-in is turned on, you also see Continue with Google, then or continue with email.
Casey Lee: the sign-up page. Notice the three lines under the title, ending with 14-day trial, no card required.
The fields are First name, Last name, Email, and Password. The two names are optional, and each can be up to 100 characters. Under the password the hint says At least 12 characters. The button says Sign up. While it sends, it says Creating account…
Casey Lee: the form with her name and email typed in. Notice the hint At least 12 characters under the password.
The email must be a real email, from 3 to 255 characters. A bad one says Enter a valid email. A long one says Email is too long. When SourceDock matches your login, it ignores spaces at the ends and capital letters. The password must be 12 to 128 characters. Too short says Password must be at least 12 characters. Too long says Password must be 128 characters or fewer. It does not need a number or a symbol, and spaces are fine. A password from a known data breach is turned down. The notice says Sign up failed and That password has appeared in a data breach. Please choose another. When sign-up works, the page says Check your email and Verify your seller workspace to start checking ASINs. The line under it reads like “If maya@brighthome.example is available, we’ve sent a verification link. Click it to activate your account.” The button is Resend verification email. While it sends, it says Sending… Right after a send, it says Email sent. You can resend in a minute. Under it are Back to log in and Sign up with a different email. The sign-up form itself ends with Already have an account? and Log in.
A new account with no plan does not open the desk. It opens the plan page, with Sign out at the top. The small line says Account, and the heading says Choose Your Plan. Under it: “Try any plan free for 14 days. No card required to start. Add one before the trial ends to keep your plan; if you do not, it simply stops and nothing is charged. Cancel anytime.” A box that says Have a code? with Redeem sits under that.
Casey Lee: the plan page she lands on. Notice the Have a code? box under the line about the 14-day trial.
The cards you can pick are Premier and Pro. Pro wears the badge Most Popular.
Casey Lee: the top of the Premier card. Notice the line Free for 14 days, then $29.99/mo.
Casey Lee: the top of the Pro card. Notice the Most Popular badge.
Premier’s list price is 2,999 cents. Until billing sends a live price, the card prints “$29.99”. A whole-dollar price would drop the “.00”, but Premier is not a whole dollar, so the cents stay. A live monthly price from billing takes the list price’s place when billing has one. The line under the price is “Free for 14 days, then $29.99/mo.” Premier’s list ends with “Capital Recovery, Sales dashboard, Account health, and Google Sheets sync during your trial”. Pro has no such line, because Pro already includes those tools.Monthly and Yearly show only when billing sells a yearly price. Yearly is for Pro only. If you picked Yearly on the public pricing page before signing up, the cards open on Yearly. While a 4-week code is in use, the switch is hidden. In the yearly view, Premier says Monthly only.Pro’s list price is 4,999 cents a month, which prints “$49.99”. A year costs 10 months: 4,999 times 10 is 49,990 cents, or “$499.90”. The big number spreads that year over 12 months and rounds to the cent. 49,990 divided by 12 is 4,165.83, which rounds to 4,166 cents, so “$41.66” with /mo beside it. The crossed-out price is “$49.99”. The note under it is “Billed yearly ($499.90).” and the trial line is “Free for 14 days, then $499.90/yr.” A live yearly amount from billing takes the place of the 49,990 cents when billing has one.You click Start Free Trial on Premier. A window opens called Start trial. It says No card required to start. The big line is 14 days free, with “Premier” under it, and a Have a code? spot. You click Start trial in the window. That starts the trial. No card form opens.Skip the trial - subscribe now is the other way. It opens checkout with no free days, and you add a card there. After Start trial, the page can say Activating your subscription… and This usually takes a few seconds. A new seller with no Amazon store is then sent straight into setup, before the desk shows. If the app cannot read your plan, a small bar says Couldn’t verify your subscription. with Retry. If the trial does not start, the notice is Trial did not start with the reason, or Unable to start your trial. Please try again. If this email or this Amazon store already used a free trial, the window closes and checkout opens instead. Checkout can say This email or Amazon store has already used its free trial, so billing starts today. The trial comes with 1,000 Gate Scanner checks for the whole trial, not for each day. A paid plan has no such cap. At 800 checks used, 200 are left. The line then reads “800 of 1,000 free checks used”, and the heads-up says “You have 200 free checks left in your trial.” See Gate Scanner. Plan changes later are in Plans and billing.
The bar at the top of setup shows five steps on a wide screen: Plan, Connect Amazon, Import history, Costs, and Review. Plan is the plan page you just left, so setup opens on Connect Amazon. A finished step shows a check mark. The card says Step 2 of 5, in capital letters.
Harbor & Pine Goods: the five steps across the top of setup. Notice Plan and Connect Amazon have check marks.
You can click an earlier step, but not Plan and not a later step. On a phone the step names are hidden, and the card still says which step you are on. Sign out is at the top.The desk home sends you to setup only when all of these are true:
The account is at most 24 hours old.
No Amazon store is connected yet.
You have not already left setup in this browser.
You are not working inside someone else’s account as a team member.
While your store list loads, the desk waits. If that list fails to load, or a store is already connected, you stay on the desk. When you go to Amazon’s consent screen from setup, SourceDock remembers it for 30 minutes, so your return lands back in setup. A return after that does not.
The card says Step 2 of 5 and Connect your Amazon seller account. Under the title: Sign in on Amazon’s consent screen and come straight back. We read your sales, fees, and shipments. Under that, the card lists what SourceDock reads and does:
SourceDock reads restrictions, catalog, pricing, and fees
It never lists products, changes prices, or places orders
Capital Recovery also reads financial and settlement data
Your Amazon connection is locked with strong encryption.
The button is Connect with Amazon. While the page leaves, it says Redirecting… and Opening Amazon’s consent screen. Set up later leaves setup. Nothing is read until Amazon accepts the connection.Say Amazon lists Bright Home in the US and in Canada. One approval adds both stores, US first. Each one starts its first Capital Recovery read and its first import scan on its own, so the scan may already be going when you reach the next step.A Mexico store is not added on this first approval. SourceDock adds it later from the same sign-in, with no second approval, once your US store shows a Mexico order. A Mexico store is for the Sales page only, so it gets no first Capital Recovery read and no first import scan. When you come back, the card says Amazon connected. With a healthy key it says Your seller account is linked and the token is healthy. The small label is Seller account. The name line is “Bright Home”, Amazon’s name for the store, or your seller ID when Amazon gives no name. The next line is your seller ID, then “US MARKETPLACE”, then Amazon token healthy.
Harbor & Pine Goods: the card after Amazon says yes. Notice the green dot by the store name and the words Amazon token healthy.
While the key is checked, the sentence is just Your seller account is linked. and the status is Checking Amazon token. If the check cannot be read, the status is Token status unavailable. If Amazon did not accept the key, the sentence is Your seller account is linked, but Amazon did not accept the token. You can fix it later in Settings. and the status is Amazon token failed.Under the card you see Next · Import your Amazon history and Import my history. If you just came back from Amazon, it also says “Continuing in 5s”. It counts down once a second, and at 0 the import step opens. Skip for now leaves setup, and the store stays connected. If Amazon does not confirm, the card says Amazon did not confirm the connection. It adds that nothing was saved, and that you can try again now or connect later from Settings. The buttons are Try again and Enter SourceDock anyway. If this store already used a free trial, the only line is This Amazon store has already used its free trial. Choose a plan to connect it. That card has no Try again. If Amazon’s page cannot open at all, a notice says Connection failed, with the reason or Unable to start the Amazon connection. Please try again.Connecting the same store again reuses its place in SourceDock, so nothing is lost. It only gives SourceDock a fresh key.
This step does not save your “$160.00” purchase. It reads Amazon so the next step can price the blender. The card says Step 3 of 5 and Import your Amazon history. Under the title: SourceDock pulls your sales and shipments from Amazon. Above the button: Press Scan and import to start. It takes a few minutes. The button is Scan and import. The rows, from top to bottom:
Row
The line under the name
Orders
What you sold, product by product
FBA inbound shipments
Shipment IDs, units shipped and received
FBA fees
Fulfillment, referral, and storage fees
Settlement reports
Payouts, reserves, and transfers
Refunds & reimbursements
Returns and adjustments
Catalog
Titles and images for your ASINs
FBA means Amazon stores and ships your units. A settlement report is Amazon’s record of a payout. Before you press the button, Orders, FBA inbound shipments, and Catalog show no status. FBA fees, Settlement reports, and Refunds & reimbursements already say In the background. Those three come from the Capital Recovery read, not from this scan. They switch to Done once a full Capital Recovery read has finished. They never hold you on this step. If your store has no Capital Recovery read, those three rows are left out.The connect step already started the scan. Pressing Scan and import shows that scan, part way or done. It does not start a second one. It starts a new scan only when none ran yet, or the last one failed or was cancelled. SourceDock remembers your press in this browser, so when you come back you see the scan, not the button.Right after the press, the line over the bar can say Waiting for Amazon to start. Then a row can say Reading, Done, Failed, or Queued. Queued means its part has not started yet.Shipments are read first, even though Orders is listed first. So FBA inbound shipments can say Reading while Orders still says Queued. The shipment part counts 18 months of Amazon’s records. Each month on that count is 30 days, so 18 months is 540 days. The May 12 box is one shipment inside that read. The bar is the average of four parts: shipments, sales, products, and saving. Say the shipment part has read 9 of 18 months. 9 divided by 18 is 50 percent. The other three parts are still at 0. 50 plus 0 plus 0 plus 0 is 50, and 50 divided by 4 is 12.5, which rounds to 13. You see “13%”, and the line says “Reading your shipments: 9 of 18 months”.The minutes line uses only the shipment part, and only the speed this page has seen. Say the page first saw 6 months, and three minutes later it sees 9. That is 3 minutes for 3 months, or 1 minute a month. 9 months are left, so it says “Shipments: about 9 minutes left”. With less than 2 minutes left, it says Shipments: about a minute left. At 90 minutes or more, it shows hours instead: the minutes divided by 60, rounded. The time shown can only go down. If that time passes and shipments are still reading, the minutes line goes away. While shipments are read, the page says Amazon is still sending your shipments. This can take a few minutes. If the bars do not move for 60 seconds, that line is replaced by Amazon is slow right now. This can take up to 10 minutes. You can keep using SourceDock. When shipments are done and sales are reading, shipments are at 100 and sales sit at a flat 50 while they run. The other two parts are at 0. 100 plus 50 is 150, and 150 divided by 4 is 37.5, which rounds to “38%”. The line then says “Reading your orders”, with no minutes line. Under the rows, where the button was, it says This can take a while. You can keep using SourceDock. If you watched the scan run, setup moves on to Costs by itself a moment after it finishes. If the scan was already done when you pressed, the line says Done at “100%” and the button is Continue. Once the scan is done, the Catalog row shows how many products it found and the FBA inbound shipments row shows how many shipments. For the blender, that is “1” and “1”. The other rows show no count.Skip for now leaves setup. A scan that already started keeps going.
This step prices the blender. Nothing is saved yet. Your file is kept until you press Import on the last step. The card says Step 4 of 5 · Costs. One product in one shipment makes the title “We found 1 product in 1 shipment”. The words stay singular at 1 and turn plural at 2. Big counts get commas. A small question mark beside the title opens this tip: Amazon only keeps shipment records for 18 months. Older products are not imported. The seller can add them by hand to track them.Under the title is a list of your products with the columns Product, Shipments, and Received. The blender’s row shows “1” shipment and “20” received. Then comes Your buy sheet, the file of what you paid. Its line is Have your buy sheet? Upload it and we will fill in your costs. The drop box says Drop your buy sheet here (.csv or .xlsx), with Invoices, purchase logs, or inventory exports and browse under it. After a file is in, the box says Drop more files, or keep going. While files are read, it says Reading your files… with Cancel. If SourceDock cannot find the columns it needs, it shows the columns so you can pick them.At the bottom are I don’t have a buy sheet and Match costs. Match costs stays off until you add a file. Under them, Back returns to the import step and Skip for now leaves setup.Your sheet’s row says B0EXAMPLE1, May 1, 2026, 20 units, $8.00 each. SourceDock saves the row’s cost as the unit cost times the units: 800 cents times 20 is 16,000 cents. A box is one Amazon shipment for one product. A box holds the larger of the units you sent and the units Amazon received. Here both are 20, so the box holds 20 units. Here is how the match works:
Rows go oldest first. Each row with a date and a number of units fills the earliest boxes Amazon received on its day or up to 60 days later, until its units run out. May 12 minus May 1 is 11 days. 11 is inside 0 to 60, so this row fills the whole box. 16,000 divided by 20 is 800 cents, so each unit costs “$8.00”. One row covers every unit, so the price is not a mix of rows.
A dated row with no number of units prices one whole box that step 1 did not reach, the one closest in date.
Units still empty in any box take the units step 1 did not use, oldest row first, even past 60 days. Say a second box came in on July 1, 2026. May 1 to July 1 is 61 days, which is past 60, so step 1 skips it. If the row still had units left, step 3 can put the same $8.00 on that box. A row’s units beyond every box are never used.
Units still empty after that get the product’s average cost, across all its rows, weighted by units. A row with no date, or no number of units, only feeds this average.
If you change your files after Match costs, it says Your files changed. Press Match costs to match them again. The file limits, in the screen’s words:
If you add more than 20 files, the extra ones are left out, and a line starts You can add up to 20 files.
This file has more than 100,000 rows. Split it into smaller files and upload each one. The file’s name comes first.
This file is bigger than 10 MB. Delete the columns you do not need, save the file, and try again.
These files are bigger than 10 MB all together. Remove a file, or delete the columns you do not need and save the file again.
Too many uploads in one minute. Please wait a minute, then try again. The cap is 60 uploads in one minute.
If your product list was cut short, the screen says You have a lot of products. We can only show part of them here, so Import is off. Wait a moment and open this page again.Press Match costs. Your sheet prices the blender, so the next screen says Every product has a buy cost. To add more sheets, press Back, drop them in, and press Match costs again. Review goes to the last step.Say a product still has no cost after the match. Then that screen says how many, like “1 product has no buy cost”. When the missing months are clear, a line names them, like “Upload sheets for Jul–Aug 2025 to cover them.”
Once a sheet is in, the upload screen can show a card for a year your sheets miss. A card shows only for a bigger hole: two or more months with no sheet that still have products to price, or one month with 5 or more. The blender is priced, so Maya sees no card.Say instead that your sheet covers only 2026, and 6 other products came in during July and August 2025 with no cost. The card reads “2025 · Jul – Aug · 6 products still need a cost”, then “Do you have a buy sheet from 2025?” and a button, “Upload your 2025 buy sheet”. When the hole is before your first sheet, a line above the cards says It looks like you have more shipments. Do you have more sheets dating back? If your 2025 sheet looks too short for the year, the card asks “Your 2025 buy sheet covers only part of that year. Do you have more sheets from 2025?” and the button says “Upload more 2025 sheets”.No button makes a card go away. Only an uploaded sheet clears those months. The cards never stop you from moving on. If SourceDock cannot check your sheets, a box says SourceDock couldn’t check which buy sheets are missing. with Try again.
I don’t have a buy sheet takes you straight to the Review step. The blender comes in with no cost, and you can add it later in Purchases. While your products load, the step says Loading your products… If they fail to load, it says We could not load your products and Please try again., with Try again.
The card says Step 5 of 5 · Review. This screen has no table and nothing to tick. While its list loads, it says Getting your products ready… Every product comes in. First is the same count the Costs step showed. Next is the still-reading line, if receipts are still being read. Then comes the bar at the bottom with the button. With your matched sheet, the count says Every product has a buy cost. The bar says “1 product · $160.00”. The button says “Import 1 product”. Back and Finish later sit beside it. The button counts products, not purchases. One product can turn into more than one purchase, for example when its boxes have different prices. The blender is one box at one price, so both numbers are 1.Press “Import 1 product”. The window is called Confirm import. It says “Import 1 product, total cost $160.00. These will be added to your Purchase Orders and tracked through Capital Recovery.” The row shows “B0EXAMPLE1 · 1 shipment” and the total “$160.00”. The math line is “20 × $8.00 · May 12, 2026”. May 12 is the day Amazon received the units, and it is saved as the ship date. After the import, the purchase date becomes your sheet row’s day, May 1. With no sheet row, it is the day in the shipment’s name, else May 12.The buttons are Cancel and Confirm. While the import runs, the title is Importing purchases, and the import’s own bar and Cancel show in the window. Its line says Your import is running. Stay on this page until it finishes. while the page is still sending it. Once SourceDock has all of it, the line says Your import is running. You can keep using SourceDock. and a small minus button appears. Its tip says Minimize. The import keeps going. It also takes you out of setup to the desk. When it finishes, the title is “1 product added”. The line is “That’s 1 purchase and $160.00 in cost of goods.” That is the same 20 times 800 cents. The button is Enter SourceDock. If you had no buy sheet, the count says “1 product has no buy cost”. The bar says “1 product · No cost yet” and, under it, “1 product has no cost yet”. The button still says “Import 1 product”. The window says “Import 1 product. These will be added to your Purchase Orders and tracked through Capital Recovery.” and “1 product has no cost yet. They still come in.” There is no dollar total. The row’s total says Needs a cost, and the math says “20 × no cost yet · May 12, 2026”.The done title is still “1 product added”, and the line is “That’s 1 purchase.” It never says $0.00, because an unknown cost is never shown as $0.00. If your store has purchases that need a cost, the line adds a count like “1 purchase needs a cost.” That count is the store’s whole Cost needed list, not just this import. On Purchases, that list’s filter says Cost needed. If a product did not go in, the done line adds “1 product was not added. Check it, then import again.” and the button Check it takes you back. If some products are still waiting, it can add “1 more is waiting in Purchases › Import from Amazon.”Your work is saved on SourceDock’s side, not just in this browser. That includes your file’s matches, and whether you were on Costs or Review. Finish later saves it before you leave.
This box is not about the blender. It shows only for a product Amazon never stored for you, that you shipped to buyers yourself, and that has no live purchase, not even a partial one. It can show on the Costs step and on the Review step.Say that product is a toy truck, ASIN “B0EXAMPLE2”. You shipped 4, and you type $6.00. That is 600 cents each. The title is You shipped these yourself, with Tell us what you paid. under it. The columns are Product, Shipped by you, and Unit cost. 600 cents times 4 is 2,400 cents, or “$24.00”. The button counts products, so it says “Add 1 purchase”. The window is called Confirm import and says “Create 1 purchase, total COGS $24.00. These will be added to your Purchase Orders and tracked through Capital Recovery.” COGS means the cost of the goods. The buttons are Cancel and Confirm. With no cost typed, the button says “Add 0 purchases” and stays off.
Fees, payouts, and refunds keep reading after you leave the import step. They never block Costs or Review. Leaving setup does not stop a scan that already started. An import keeps going too, once SourceDock has all of it.
Set up later, Skip for now, Finish later, Enter SourceDock anyway, Enter SourceDock, and the import’s minus button all leave setup. After you leave, the desk no longer sends you to setup in this browser. To come back, go to Purchases. Click the small arrow beside Record Purchase, then Import from Amazon. It opens on Costs or Review, whichever you were on. See Import from Amazon, Purchases, and Capital Recovery.
Open Connections: click your picture, then Connections, or press W. The section is Amazon connection, and each store is a row. Under the store’s name, a US store says “US marketplace”. The setup card said “US MARKETPLACE” for the same store. The store you see now wears Main store. Another store has the button Make main store. Both have the tip The store SourceDock uses on pages that show one store at a time. With more than one store, a store picker also sits in the top bar. It shows the store’s code, like “US”. Its menu, Pick a store in capital letters, lists each store with its code, country, and name. See Connections.
Harbor & Pine Goods: the US and Canada stores on Connections. Notice the US store wears Main store, and the Canada store has Make main store.
Add Account starts another Amazon approval. Disconnect asks Disconnect this Amazon account? The confirm button is Disconnect, and while it runs it says Removing… The notice after that is Seller account removed. With no store, the card says No accounts connected, and the button is Connect Your First Account. The same four lines from the setup card show there.
Reconnect shows on your main store’s row when Amazon stopped accepting SourceDock’s key, or when Amazon refuses this store’s data. It starts the Amazon approval again. Reconnect Amazon is a different button. It shows on the import step when Amazon refuses the store, and on the red bar at the top of every page when SourceDock cannot reach Amazon. It takes you to Connections. The API status tile says Token healthy, Token failed, or Disconnected. If it cannot be read, it says Status unavailable. Its button says Check again, or Checking… while it checks. If the store list cannot load, a red line says SourceDock could not load your connected accounts and that nothing was disconnected. The button is Try again, or Retrying… while it tries.
Harbor & Pine Goods: the API status tile. Notice the green dot and Token healthy.
Amazon did not confirm the connection. Nothing was saved. Use Try again, or Enter SourceDock anyway and connect later. This Amazon store has already used its free trial. Choose a plan to connect it. This card has no Try again.Connection failed means Amazon’s page did not open. The fallback line is Unable to start the Amazon connection. Please try again.Your seller account is linked, but Amazon did not accept the token. You can fix it later in Settings. The status is Amazon token failed. On Connections, use Reconnect.
The scan did not finish
We could not finish the scan. What SourceDock already read is saved. You can retry now, or scan later from Purchases. The buttons are Retry and Enter SourceDock anyway, and the line over the bar says Scan stopped. If Amazon refuses the store, that reason takes the place of the scan sentence, and the button is Reconnect Amazon.A cancelled scan says Scan cancelled, with Start a new scan and Skip for now.If the bars sit still for 60 seconds: Amazon is slow right now. This can take up to 10 minutes. You can keep using SourceDock.
Costs has nothing to price
If the store never finished a scan: Scan your Amazon history to see what you can import. The buttons are Scan now, which goes back to the import step, and Enter SourceDock. If Amazon has received nothing: Amazon has not received any of your shipments yet.If every box Amazon received is already a purchase, and none need a cost: Everything Amazon received from you is already in your purchases. There is nothing left to price. Then: Units Amazon is still checking in, and any extra units Amazon counts, show up later under Found at Amazon. If one of those purchases still needs a cost, it says “Everything Amazon received is in your purchases. 1 still needs a cost, so add it in Purchases.” That count is the store’s whole Cost needed list. The same Found at Amazon line follows. Before any month is read, a line says Reading your Amazon receipts: starting with the newest month. Then it shows how far back it has read, like “Reading your Amazon receipts: back to Jan 2026 of the 18 months · about 6 min left”. Without that detail, it says We are still reading your Amazon receipts. Some products cannot be imported until we finish. If it takes long, it adds Taking longer than usual. SourceDock keeps trying; you can leave this page.Products with no receipt in that time: Older products with no Amazon receipt in the last 18 months: add them yourself if you want them tracked. On a Canada store whose US store tracks the stock, it says “These products have no Canada receipt in the last 18 months. Amazon ships their Canada orders from your US stock, so your US store tracks them.” A Mexico store says the same with Mexico. When Amazon has shipment records for a product: Amazon has shipment records for these products, so we do not guess their units from sales.
The plan page has a problem
Trial did not start when the trial cannot start. The line says why, or Unable to start your trial. Please try again.Checkout failed when checkout does not open. The line says why, or Unable to start checkout. Please try again. If the app cannot read your plan at all, a small bar says Couldn’t verify your subscription. with Retry.
