Say you have sold on Amazon for a year. You already have products at Amazon and a spreadsheet of what you paid. Setup brings all of that into SourceDock, so you don’t type it again. Setup opens on its own right after your trial starts, for a new account (less than a day old) with no store yet. The bar at the top shows five steps: Plan, Connect Amazon, Import history, Costs, and Review. You already did Plan when you started your trial. You can leave at any step and come back later. See Come back later. For one made-up seller walked through every setup screen and number, see Getting set up, in depth.

Step 2: Connect Amazon

1

Click Connect with Amazon

The card says Connect your Amazon seller account. Click Connect with Amazon. Amazon’s own page opens.
2

Approve at Amazon

Sign in to Seller Central if Amazon asks. Approve the request.
3

Come back

Amazon sends you back. The card says Amazon connected. Click Import my history, or wait a few seconds and setup moves on by itself.
SourceDock reads your restrictions, catalog, prices, and fees. Capital Recovery also reads your payouts. SourceDock never lists products, changes prices, or places orders. More on the Connections page.

Step 3: Import your Amazon history

The card says Import your Amazon history. Click Scan and import. SourceDock reads about 18 months of your Amazon history. It reads your Orders, FBA inbound shipments, FBA fees, Settlement reports, Refunds & reimbursements, and Catalog. Most rows show Reading and then Done. FBA fees, Settlement reports, and Refunds & reimbursements say In the background. This can take a few minutes. You can keep using SourceDock while it runs. The scan keeps going even if you leave the page. When it finishes, setup moves to the next step by itself.
Amazon only keeps shipment records for 18 months. Products you sent in before that are not imported. You can add them by hand in Purchases if you want to track them.

Step 4: Add your buy costs

A buy cost is what you paid for one unit. SourceDock needs it to work out your profit. The card says how many products and shipments it found, like We found 120 products in 35 shipments. Now give it your buy sheet: the file where you wrote down what you bought and what it cost.
1

Upload your buy sheet

Drop the file on Your buy sheet, or click browse. SourceDock takes .csv and .xlsx files, like invoices, purchase logs, or inventory exports. You can add up to 20 files at once.
2

Match costs

Click Match costs. If SourceDock can’t tell which columns hold the product and the cost, it asks you to pick them.
3

See what's left

The screen says how many products still have no buy cost, like “12 products have no buy cost”. It can also say which months to upload sheets for, like “Upload sheets for Nov 2024–Sep 2025 to cover them.” To add more sheets, click Back, drop them in, and click Match costs again. Or click Review.
No buy sheet? Click I don’t have a buy sheet. Your products still come in without costs. In Purchases they show as Cost needed, and you can add the cost later. SourceDock may ask about years your sheets don’t cover, like Do you have a buy sheet from 2025? Upload a sheet for that year to clear it. There is no button to skip a year. None of these questions stop you from moving on.

How SourceDock matches a row to a shipment

Say your sheet says you bought 12 units on March 1. SourceDock looks for a shipment Amazon received on March 1 or in the 60 days after. That shipment gets the cost from your row. Nothing from your sheet is saved until you press Import on the last step.

Step 5: Review and import

The screen says how many products still have no buy cost, the same number as before. Every product comes in, with or without a cost. The purchase date is the day of your buy sheet row that priced it. With no sheet row, it is the date in the shipment’s name, else the day Amazon received the units. A date you set yourself stays.
1

Import

Click the import button, like “Import 120 products”. A box called Confirm import shows the count and the total cost. Click Confirm.
2

Done

The screen says how many products were added. They are now in Purchases and tracked in Capital Recovery. Click Enter SourceDock.
If Amazon shows sales you shipped yourself, a box says You shipped these yourself. Type what you paid, then click the button with the count, like Add 3 purchases.

Come back later

Every step has a way out: Set up later, Skip for now, or Finish later. Your work is saved, and setup remembers where you stopped. To come back, go to Purchases. Click the small arrow beside Record Purchase (its name is More purchase actions), then Import from Amazon. The files you already uploaded are still there, so you don’t upload them again. See Import from Amazon.

Who sees setup

Setup opens for the account owner. A team member working in your account never sees it.
