The steps
The import has five steps: Find products, Costs, Review, Importing, and Done.1
Find products
Click Scan my history. SourceDock reads your shipments, sales, and products from Amazon. It says This can take a while. You can keep using SourceDock. When it’s done, you get a note: Your Amazon history is ready. Click Continue your import.
2
Costs
Drop your buy sheet in Your buy sheet, a
.csv or .xlsx file. You can add more than one. Then click Match costs. The screen says how many products still have no buy cost, and which months to upload sheets for. Add more files, or click Review. No buy sheet? Click I don’t have a buy sheet.3
Review
It shows the same count again, and lists those products. Every product comes in, with or without a cost. Click the import button, like “Import 206 products”, then Confirm.
4
Importing
The purchases are added. You can keep using SourceDock while it runs, unless it asks you to stay on the page.
5
Done
It says how many products were added. Click Back to Purchases.
What gets imported
- Your products Amazon received in the last 18 months. Amazon only keeps shipment records that long. Add older products by hand with Record Purchase.
- Each purchase gets the units you sent to Amazon, or what Amazon received if that’s more, including boxes still on the way. The purchase date is the day of your buy sheet row that priced it. With no sheet row, it is the date in the shipment’s name, else the day Amazon received the units. A date you set yourself stays.
- Products with no cost still come in. They show as Cost needed on Purchases, and stay out of your profit until you add a cost.
How SourceDock reads your buy sheet
Say your sheet has a row: 6 blenders, $30 each, bought March 3.- SourceDock finds the product by its ASIN, then SKU, then UPC, then its name.
- SourceDock never stops to ask about your rows. If it can’t find a cost column, or an ASIN, SKU, or UPC column, it asks you to pick them.
- A row with a date fills the shipments Amazon got on or after that day, within 60 days. For the blender row, that’s shipments from March 3 to May 2.
- A sheet with no dates is read without them, so those products show as missing a cost.
- If a row has a unit cost and a total that don’t match, SourceDock uses the total.
- A pack row it can’t be sure about gets the average cost of that product’s other rows.
- If your sheets miss a whole year, it asks, like Do you have a buy sheet from 2025? Upload one, or click I don’t have one.
Add costs later
Products still missing a cost? Upload more buy sheets any time. On Import from Amazon, click Upload buy sheets. Or on Purchases, click Cost needed, then Add costs from your file. The upload has four steps: Upload, Match, Review, and Done. Match is SourceDock reading your sheets after you click Match files, so it has no step of its own below.1
Upload
Drop your sheets on Drop your buy sheets here. A line says which months your sheets don’t cover yet, like “Months your sheets don’t cover yet: Nov – Dec 2024”. Click Match files.
2
Review
It lists the products that still have no buy cost, with their units and months. If your sheet has orders Amazon doesn’t know about yet, it says so, like “Import will also add 2 purchases you ordered from your sheet.” Click the button, like “Import 368 costs”. Nothing is saved before you click it.
3
Done
It says how many costs were saved, like “368 costs saved”, and which months are still missing. If some products are in Amazon shipments you haven’t imported yet, click Show shipments. Or click View purchases.
