Say you are in a store holding a toy. You want to know if it is worth buying. Open SourceDock on your phone, scan the barcode, and see the profit in a few seconds. The phone app is SourceDock on your phone’s home screen. It is the same account and the same data as on your computer, with a layout made for a phone. There is nothing to download from an app store. For one made-up seller walked through the phone’s Desk, calculator, photos, lists and alerts, see The phone app, in depth.

Install it

iPhone

1

Open SourceDock

Open app.sourcedock.io in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge, and sign in. The Desk says Get SourceDock on your iPhone: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
2

Add it

Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
3

Open it

Open SourceDock from your home screen.

Android

Open app.sourcedock.io in your browser and use the browser’s own install option. Then open SourceDock from your home screen.
The phone layout shows only when you open SourceDock from the home screen on a phone. In a phone’s browser tab, or on a tablet, you see the website.

The bottom bar

The bar at the bottom has three buttons: To change them, tap the round button, then More > Choose shortcuts. Under Bottom bar, pick the page for Left and Right. Below that, turn on up to 6 pages for the round button. Your choices are saved for your login, so every phone matches.

Look up a product’s profit

1

Open the calculator

Tap the left button, or open Profit calculator.
2

Find the product

Paste an Amazon link, an ASIN, or a UPC in the box and tap Look up. Or tap Scan a barcode and point the camera at the barcode. Only the barcode’s numbers are looked up. The picture is not sent anywhere. No barcode handy? Tap Photo, take a picture of the box, and tap the match you have.
3

Read the profit

Type your cost. You see Amazon’s fees, your profit, your ROI, and the most you can pay. These are the same numbers as the Chrome extension’s profit panel, with the same settings. See Chrome extension.
Your last 10 lookups are under Recent lookups. They are kept on this phone only. On Android you can also share an Amazon page to SourceDock to look it up.

Receipts and box photos

Say you just bought 6 blenders and want to keep the receipt with the order.
1

Open Photos

Tap the right button. You see your newest orders. Search by product, ASIN, or order number.
2

Pick the order

Tap the order. Pick Receipt or Box & prep.
3

Add the picture

For a receipt, tap Take photo, or Choose photo or file for a photo or a PDF. For box photos, tap Take photos. Each photo saves as soon as you take it.
One order holds up to 20 files in all, each under 25 MB. To remove one, tap its x and confirm. You can also add a receipt from Purchases: tap the round + beside the search box, then Add receipt.

Alerts on your phone

1

Open the alert settings

Open Alerts and tap the bell.
2

Turn on the phone icon

Each row is one kind of alert. Purchases, Recovery, and Vault always show. Scout and Health show once they have alerts. Tap the phone icon on a row. The first time, your phone asks if SourceDock may send notifications. Allow it.
On an iPhone, phone alerts work only in the app you opened from the home screen, not in a Safari tab. If you said no to notifications, allow them for SourceDock in your phone’s settings, then tap the icon again. Tap a notification to open the Alerts page in SourceDock.

What is different from the website

  • There is no keyboard shortcut. Use the round button, then More > Jump or search.
  • Capital Recovery has one layout on the phone. Its Default | Adv switch only saves your choice for the website.
  • A team member sees only the pages their owner shared. The calculator comes with the Vault page, and Photos with the Purchases page.
