# Welcome to SourceDock

> What SourceDock is, what each part of the app does, who it is for, and how to get help.

Say you buy 10 toys at a store for \$5 each. You send them to Amazon to sell. SourceDock helps with every step after that. It checks if Amazon lets you sell a product. It keeps track of what you bought. It shows what Amazon paid you, and what Amazon may still owe you.

SourceDock is for Amazon FBA sellers. FBA means Amazon stores your products and ships them to buyers.

You connect your Amazon seller account once. Then SourceDock reads your restrictions, catalog, prices, and fees. Capital Recovery also reads your payouts from Amazon. SourceDock never lists products, changes prices, or places orders.

An ASIN is Amazon's ID for one product. It is 10 letters and numbers, like B0EXAMPLE1. You will see ASINs all over SourceDock.

## Where to start

Start with the easy part, then build up. The first steps lead into each other. Products you save in the Gate Scanner go to your Vault. The ones you buy become purchases, and Capital Recovery follows them.

1. [Gate Scanner](https://docs.sourcedock.io/source/gate-scanner.md): check if Amazon lets you sell a product. Save the good ones to your Vault.
2. [Vault](https://docs.sourcedock.io/source/prospect-vault.md): see the fees, profit, and ROI of each product you may buy.
3. [Record what you buy](https://docs.sourcedock.io/operate/record-a-purchase.md): on the Purchases page, in the Chrome extension, on your phone, or from your Amazon history.
4. [Purchases](https://docs.sourcedock.io/operate/purchases.md): follow each buy until it reaches Amazon.
5. [Capital Recovery](https://docs.sourcedock.io/operate/capital-recovery.md): see how much of your money came back from each buy.
6. [Capital Recovery vs Sales](https://docs.sourcedock.io/operate/capital-recovery-vs-sales.md): learn why the two pages show different numbers, and which one to use.
7. [Sales](https://docs.sourcedock.io/operate/sales.md): see orders, fees, and profit for any day or month.
8. [Claims](https://docs.sourcedock.io/operate/claims.md): find money Amazon may owe you for lost and damaged units.
9. [AlphaChaser (Beta)](https://docs.sourcedock.io/source/alphachaser.md): see a grade from S to F on each product you may buy, and why.
10. [Chrome extension](https://docs.sourcedock.io/reference/chrome-extension.md): see fees and profit right on an Amazon product page.
11. [Google Sheets reports](https://docs.sourcedock.io/get-started/connections.md#google-sheets): your purchases and expenses in a sheet that updates itself, and a [year-end report](https://docs.sourcedock.io/get-started/account.md#reports) for your accountant.

## Getting around

The bar at the bottom of the screen takes you to each page. Drag its grip to move it to another edge.

Press **Ctrl K** (**⌘K** on a Mac) to open **Jump or search**. Type a page name or a product to go straight there.

Click your picture at the end of the bar. The menu has **Account**, **Billing & pricing**, and **Connections**. It also has **Docs** and **Discord community**, which open in a new tab.

Some pages start in that menu, not on the bar. You choose which pages ride the bar in **Account** > **Features**. See [Turn features on and off](https://docs.sourcedock.io/get-started/features.md).

## Who it is for

SourceDock is for sellers who buy products and resell them on Amazon:

* **Online arbitrage.** You buy from websites. Paste a list of ASINs to check them.
* **Retail arbitrage.** You buy in stores. Scan a barcode with the [phone app](https://docs.sourcedock.io/get-started/phone-app.md).

SourceDock works with Amazon stores in the US and Canada. If your US store also sells in Mexico, SourceDock adds a Mexico store for the Sales page. You need an Amazon seller account for most of it. The Gate Scanner can't run until you connect one.

## Plans

New sellers pick **Premier** or **Pro**. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and you don't need a card to start. Capital Recovery, Sales, and Account health are part of Pro. A Premier trial has them too. Sellers already on Flagship keep it. See [Plans and billing](https://docs.sourcedock.io/get-started/billing.md).

## How to get help

**1. Read the docs**

Click your picture, then **Docs**. The docs open in a new tab, and the app stays where you left it.

**2. Email support**

Email [support@sourcedock.io](mailto:support@sourcedock.io). Use the email address of your SourceDock account. Add a short note about the problem. Every plan gets the same email help. There is no phone or chat help.

**3. Ask the community**

Click your picture, then **Discord community**.
