# Team members

> Invite a manager or a VA to your account, pick the pages they can open, and change or remove their access.

Say you hire a helper to log your buys. You don't want to share your password. Invite them as a team member instead. They sign in with their own email and see only the pages you pick.

Go to **Account** > **Team**.

For one made-up owner and two helpers walked through seats, roles, invites and pauses, see [Team members, in depth](https://docs.sourcedock.io/get-started/team-in-depth.md).

## Seats

A seat is one person who can sign in to your account. You count as one.

| Plan | Seats |
| - | - |
| Premier | 1 (just you) |
| Pro | 5 (you and 4 team members) |

The **Team** tab shows how many seats you use, like **3 of 5 seats used**. Each open invite also takes a seat until it is used or it runs out.

On Premier, the tab says **Your plan has no team seats. Pro has 5 seats, and you count as one.** Click **See plans** to move up.

## Roles

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Manager** | Opens the pages you pick. Can invite VAs, but only to pages the manager has. Can change and remove VAs. |
| **VA** | Opens the pages you pick. Can't invite anyone. |

Only you, the account owner, can invite a manager.

## Invite someone

**1. Open the invite box**

Click **Invite someone**. A box called **Invite someone to your team** opens.

**2. Fill it in**

Type their **Email**. Pick a **Role**: **Manager** or **VA**.

**3. Pick their pages**

Under **Pages**, click a page to turn it on or off. A new manager starts with every page on. A new VA starts with none. Turn on at least one page.

**4. Send it**

Click **Send invite**. SourceDock emails them a link. The link works for 7 days.

The open invite shows in the list until they accept. Click **Cancel invite** to take it back and free the seat.

### Which pages you can share

You can share **Desk**, **Alerts**, **Vault**, **Scanner**, **Scout**, **Purchases**, **Recovery**, **Health**, and **Sales**. A page your plan doesn't have can't be shared.

**Purchases** has two levels:

* **Full**: they can add and change purchases.
* **View only**: they can see your purchases but can't change them.

Team members with Purchases can see all your purchases. On the phone app, the **Calculator** follows Vault access, and **Box photos** follows Purchases access.

A team member never sees **Billing**, **Connections**, **Reports**, **Features**, or **Danger** on the Account page. Only you can connect Amazon, change your plan, or delete the account.

## Accept an invite

Say your boss invited you. You get an email that says they invited you to their SourceDock team. Click **Accept the invite**.

* No SourceDock account yet? Click **Create account**. Use the same email the invite went to. You come back to the invite after.
* Already have an account? Click **Sign in** with that email.

Then click the button with the owner's name, like **Join Dana's team**. SourceDock opens the first page you were given.

If you sign up with a password, check your email first. The invite only works for the email it was sent to.

If you belong to more than one account, click **Switch account** at the top to move between them.

## Change or remove someone

On their row, click **Change access** to pick other pages, then **Save**. Click **Remove** to take them off the team. They lose access to your account right away. Their own SourceDock account, if they have one, stays.

A team member can leave by themselves. On **Account** > **Team**, they click **Leave team**.

## When your plan gets smaller

Say you move from Pro to Premier with 3 team members. Premier has no team seats. Your team members stay on the list, but they are paused and can't open anything. A paused member sees **The account owner's plan has no seat for you right now. Ask the account owner to pick you.** A bar offers you **See plans**.

If your plan has some seats but fewer than your team, the bar asks you to **Pick who stays** instead. Tick the people to keep and click **Save**. Until you pick, the people who joined first keep their seats.
